Josh and Erin officially joined the staff of Won By One To Jamaica in 2003 after 15 years of leading teams to Jamaica and around the world. Before coming on staff they lived in Berlin, Germany; Gdansk, Poland; and London, England where they served with Operation Mobilization. They also lived in Kansas City while working with YouthFront. The Shaffers have had the privilege of travelling to and ministering in over 35 countries around the world. Josh & Erin have two sons, Lane & Tyreak and a daughter, Aisha.

After 20 years of youth ministry, Loyd and Candy joined the Won By One To Jamaica staff in October 2003. After doing what Loyd describes as “drive by missions” domestically for years as a youth pastor, he fell in love with philosophy of Won By one To Jamaica of concentrating on one community. Serving students and youth pastors in the summer allows him to stay connected with youth ministry. They have two daughters who continue to be involved in the ministry: Courtney and K.R. and sons Kole and Wyatt; and Amanda.

Bryan and Beth joined the staff of Won By One To Jamaica in December of 2013 after 30 years of working as a Youth Pastor and Senior Pastor in Texas and Kansas. Prior to coming on Staff, the Fellers family volunteered with Won By One To Jamaica for 12 years. Bryan is passionate about building community and equipping people to serve. His wife Beth serves as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist and helps with medical assistance to the people in Jamaica. The Fellers have a daughter Brooke and a son Bryce.

Clinton has been married to his wife, Joan, a school teacher, since 1979 and has two daughters, Khalia and Sheree, and a son, Sherlon. Clinton retired from the bauxite mining company, where he worked his way up to the management position of Director of Training Development and Safety of a plant with 2,500 employees. He has also served as a pastor in the United Church of Jamaica for 20 years. In addition, he is a Justice of the Peace. He has degrees in mechanical engineering, management, and theology. Not only is he very intelligent, he also has a way of communicating complicated issues in everyday language.


David and Lauren Ek

David and Lauren Ek live full-time in Harmons.  They originally met when they both served on Summer Staff in 2011.  After that summer, they started dating and then were married in the fall of 2013.  David comes with a background in medical technology and Lauren has experience working with visually impaired children.  While in Jamaica, David will be primarily focused on ministering to the men and investing in the next generation of young leadership in the community.  Lauren is heading up a much-needed children’s ministry alongside Pastor Clinton.  Together, they are developing a youth ministry program through Grace Community Fellowship.

Henry and Linda were high school sweethearts and got married while Henry attended Clarion University. Upon graduation, they joined the staff of Campus Crusade for Christ and were with the Athletes in Action wrestling team and Pro ministry for seven years. After leaving Campus Crusade staff, they settled in their hometown of DuBois, Pennsylvania where they have run several businesses over the years. Today they own and operate The Inn at Narrows Creek Bed and Breakfast. They have three sons: Josh and Erin and children, Lane, Ty, and Aisha; Isaac and Martha and son Lukas; and Solomon and Marcie and children Madeleine, Simeon and Lillian.

Ruth joined our staff in March of 2014 as the director of the school sponsorship program. Ruth and her husband, Dwayne, were married in early 2014 and live in Mandeville, Jamaica. Prior to joining staff, Ruth taught has a special education teacher at a deaf High School in Kingston, served with Operation Mobilization on their ship 'Logos Hope' for two years, and worked at Generations Church in Mandeville. She graduated from University of the West Indies in 2007 and is currently pursuing her master’s degree.  Ruth has a passion for education, young people, and evangelism. She hopes to see families have more opportunities through education.  Dwayne comes to Won By One To Jamaica having served in ministry as a Jamaican camp director.  He is now the Jamaican Financial Director.  They are proud parents of twin girls.


Blair Michael - Financial Director

Blair first came to Harmons in 2010 as part of a trip to educate his son about the poverty associated with developing countries. After several trips, he joined the staff of WBOTJ in the spring of 2015. Blair graduated from The Pennsylvania State University with a B.S. in Quantitative Business Analysis with an emphasis on Accounting. Blair’s diverse background includes retail store management, food brokerage, small business consulting and various accounting positions. Blair has been married to his wife, Karen, for over 30 years. The Michaels have one daughter, Jacquelynne and one son, Alexander.

 

Wendy Hall and Family

Wendy grew to love Jamaica and the beautiful people that call this island home when she served during college in the summer of 1992. After serving in different areas of the island since that time, she is thankful to be back in the parish of Manchester, where she first worked. Wendy and her husband, Steve, have led dozens of mission trips to Jamaica and the urban core of America. Their children, Josiah and Haven, have developed a love of ministry as well. With her experience of setting up mission trips and her love of Jamaica and its people, Wendy works with group leaders to coordinate the preparation of groups for their trips.
